I would like make the Rose Leis story, an unpublished Yiddish autobiography, available to visitors to this site. The entire book is available at http://www.sound.net/~bbecker. It is there for the enjoyment of all with the ability and desire to read it. Please take a look and tell me what you think. I would be grateful if you share message this with Yiddish reading friends who would enjoy reading it. All I ask is feedback from those who read it. Rose Leis, 1887-1980, was my grandmother. She was born in Slutsk, a shtetl near Minsk, and emigrated to New York after the pogroms in 1900. She writes in a very interesting way with humor and irony.

Glad to have found you...I am one of only six (all inrelated) Jews in all of Ducan, Oklahoma. I have lived here a year but am in dire need of Jewish "supplies" such as Chanuka candles, Matzo Meal, Shabbat candles....any ideas anyone? Even if I have to drive to D/FW, I'll do it. Where do I find a wide selection of Jewish items?

Reid, you gave me this web site address a while back and sorry I am just now accessing it - great site! For those of you thinking of moving to Dallas and/or in the process -- I am on the Board of Beth Torah congregation, a wonderful family oriented conservative shul in Richardson. My husband and I have found it particularly welcoming to those new to town (we moved here from Boston 3 years ago) and would be happy to provide you with any information about it. We have 2 young children, one in the Beth Torah Preschool and one at Solomon Schechter Academy - so I am pretty up on Jewish schools and neighborhoods too.

Shalom, I live in Israeil, near the Lebanese border. I have a 16 year old daughter, Daniella who is a very good and keen tennis player - she is usually seeded in the top ten of her age group despite the fact that she does not have any access to any of the national tennis centres as we live too far from them. She trains with a small local group in a club that consists of only two courts. This summer she played tennis abroad for the first time. We made a private trip to England where she competed in two International tournaments with considerable success. While at one of the tournaments, she was spotted by Steve Wall a coach at the John Newcombe Prince Tennis Academy, New Braunfels, Texas and invited to join the Academy. However the cost is quite beyond our means. Even for Daniella to fly over for a visit would cost us something in the region of 1500$ almost a month`s salary . Daniella is very keen to come and train in the U.S.A. as she feels this is her chance to get somewhere. So we are looking for a sponsor who would be willing to help her fulfill her dreams. If anybody is willing please contact us through the E-mail with any constructive ideas or sugestions. Thankyou in anticipation.

Can anyone help a potential recruit ? Picked up your site from a book on genealogy in Britain. I am trying to trace my Mother's Family :DERLITZSKI. She was a Polish jewess who was born (?) or came with her parents to The East End of London at the turn of the century then married out. But you won't get rid of me that easily ! Does any body know the name ? Can anyone help ? Lastly, did anyone see me doing Welsh Folk Dancing in Plano five years ago ? Thanks and Shalom. Howard

Hi, It was great to re-discover the web-site at DVJC. I spend a lot of time in the big D as my family live in Plano whilst I live here in the UK. I haven't had time to look properly at the site yet but felt that I'd like to share with you all that over here the questioon of Jewish identity is a hot one a we too (Liberal and Progressive Jews) are not being recognized by Orthodoxy. Eeek, what a state!! Shalom, Paul
